You can see half of it inside the hole where the thermostat goes in the head here:

So we changed the thermostat on the racecar, and while doing so a large ring (about 3" dia and 1/4" thick, with grooves on outer edge) where the small end of the thermostat pushes against, came out. I dont see it in parts diagrams or any other place. I wonder if it's suppose to be a part pressed into the head and stay there as part of the head. Any solutions to this if it's loose? We just put it back in loose, but as the thermostat opens Im not sure it will stay.

WTB/WTT / M42 racecar WTB spares
« on: July 18, 2012, 12:53:27 PM »
hi guys!

So my good old M42 is being made into a proper racecar and we are doing a 24 hour race in Aug. We are looking for any spares that might be available. And by that I mean used, but not broken, and cheap. We are in and around Washington DC. Email me at "bossboetta" which is a Gmail account.

Thanks!

The first half of the season has passed. We have seen a great variety of cars and drivers making the first four events fun and competitive. It's now time for the last part of the 2009 season and registration for event number five is now open. Once again we go back to Maryland State Police Training Center in Sykesville, Maryland.

Click the following link to register for event #5: http://nccbmwcca.org/index.php?view=details&id=117%3Aautocross-event-5&option=com_eventlist&Itemid=26

NCC Autocross is open for all cars and all drivers. If you are new to our autocross program, please check out our FAQ section on our website or feel free to ask us any questions you might have. We hope to see you there!

online registration is closed, but we still have room for walk-ups.

See you tomorrow!

Anyone planning on coming out with their 318? We might also do some karting afterwards at the new karting facility at Summit.

We go back to Summit Point Motorsports Park and the Washington Circuit once again. This time we are hoping for dry weather and a dry track. Registration for NCC Autocross event number 4 of the 2009 season is now open. Click the following link to register: http://www.nccbmwcca.org/index.php?option=com_form&form_id=15

The 2009 season is well underway. If you haven't already joined us for the first 3 events, it's time to register and come out and play with your car at the NCC Autocross event number 4. Summit Point Motorsports Park might be a couple of miles outside the DC metro area, but it sure is worth the drive. The Washington Circuit has already proven to be ideal for autocross and lots of fun. NCC Autocross welcomes everyone, it being the first timers or the veteran autocrosser. We hope to see you there!

Registration has just opened for the third event in the BMWCCA NCC Autocross season! The NCC Autocross program is targeted towards the first timer as well as the more experienced autocrosser. More information about the program can be found on our website at: http://nccbmwcca.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=7&Itemid=25

To register for our third event click the following link: http://nccbmwcca.org/index.php?view=details&id=110%3Aautocross-event-3&option=com_eventlist&Itemid=26

The event promotes a great social gathering of all ages and all cars. Bring your car right from the showroom, or take your project out of the garage for a spin around the cones, in a safe manner provided by our experienced NCCBMWCCA AutoX committee.

Please don't hesitate to contact me or anyone else in the Autocross committee with any questions you might have. We'll be happy to answer your questions and do everything in our power so that you may have a great experience with your car and have lots of fun at the same time.

Hope to see you there,
Anders Skandsen

Only one week before the fun begins! Still available spots.

The event is getting closer. We got lots of people already signed up, but I believe there's still room for more. You can't beat May when it comes to spending time at the track. Hopefully the weather will be great!

We need some more 318s out there :) Sign up while there's still room.
