I haven't been on here for ages but ive been inspired to get my e30 back to where it was before. Ive got the cams and everything else but I have no pictures of them I can post them up if you guys want. Motor has 280,xxx but the car ran fine until it developed a nasty rattle from broken timing chain guides .Everything must go all I want to keep is the transmission, ecu and ignition stuff and a few other things once I tear it completely apart.  :-D  ALL PRICES ARE OBO BUT PLEASE ASK A REASONABLE PRICE!!! LOCAL SOCAL PREFERRED Im in the SAN DIEGO, CA 92129 AREA but I can ship at buyers expense. If you are local you are welcome to come to me and remove or show me the part you need.

Excuse the bad pictures. I have everything from the engine im slowly taking things off and cleaning them one by one.

Engine + Driveline / Wierd idle and running sound from motor
« on: July 15, 2010, 12:58:39 PM »
The motor has never been taken apart this is the first time, i recently replaced the tensioner to a newer m44 one. I also looked at the chain guides and there is some wear on them but the chain seems fine and is tight with no slack but not so tight that it feels like it could snap. Also what gear are you guys talking about is it the one thats behind the timing case the chain connects to on the bottom?

Engine + Driveline / Wierd idle and running sound from motor

The motor ran fine until it started making a dieseling sound and very loud clicking that would get louder when i rev the motor and the engine has a big loss in power at any rpm. I pulled the head and inspected it and everything seems fine theres oil in the valleys like its getting there. In the cylinder walls you can clearly see the crosshatching and they look like they where just recently milled thats how clean they are. I havent pulled the oil pan to check the lower pan bolts to see if they are tight or fell out just yet but i suspect that they are blocking oil pickup. What do you guys think i should do?

Engine + Driveline / M42 loud clicking...

My mechanic thinks that it could be one of my lifters becuase I used and engine flush on it and maybe some kind of carbon deposit or something broke loose and is making it sound like that.

Engine + Driveline / M42 loud clicking...

I was driving the car around for one week then car started vibrate and click very loud so I checked the oil and it needed to be changed bad. I changed the oil and used a 4cyl oil treatment and fuel injector cleaner, the motor sounds good but I still hear the loud clicking when I start it and when the car is fully warmed up like after a short drive the engine sounds like crap but it idles fine. Im thinking it could be a lifter that is broken? or my injectors are going bad...help me out here guys.

Electrical / Electrical problems...
« on: July 15, 2006, 03:48:32 AM »
Ok well the other day I was installing my system back into my car and after I was monkeying around with the system and tuning the sound from the amp. well the next morning I went to drive the car and the central locking wouldnt work(like i never had it) though i could still get in the car. so I took the battery out and had it tested and the guys at the local auto shop and they said that it still has a good amount of cranking amps but a low voltage reading, so on the charger it goes. I reinstall the battery back into my car and everything was fine. I go to my buddies house for a few hours, and when I go to leave the ABS light is lit but as soon as I rev the engine the gauge cluster lights get brighter and the ABS light goes away. I just replaced the alternator and im running a high power stereo system. im thinking that my battery is toast and I just need a new one. Im thinking something is draining my battery while it is just sitting. what do you guys think? Maybe my alternator isnt adjusted correctly or became loose and is not giving a good charge to the battery. gimme some advice.

Hey its Nimitz's car my cars almost twin. Ive seen this car through its badass stage to how it is at the moment. My friends and his friends keep on mixing up our cars, they call me when they see his car and vice versa. we also live in the same area as each other too.
