timm3h these were with ECCA.
Cristian, #2 is a 318iS. Wouldnt say melbourne's roads are quite there yet, but it will be better when the monash upgrade is finished.

Was on a photoshoot down Melbourne's new Eastlink tollway today with a carclub, seemed like a good idea to get in before they put the tolls on in a couple of weeks time. I was shooting with a 20D and a 24-105 IS lens out the sides of a convertable, very very very cold thing to do!

Do you have the side shot in high res? It would make a sick background.
Check flickr for the higher res, should be something reasonably large up there!

What type of camera did you use for these?
Canon 20D with 24-105 lens.

Hawt. Only thing would be to bump the exposure on the car a fraction.

Had a play with some strobes (small battery powered flashes) the other night, went down to the local shopping center carpark, found myself a nice deserted level and had a play for an hour or so. Reading strobist.com gets addictive! Should have played with more angles, and a couple of times I kept wishing I'd ordered a third light...
Very little PP went into these, the aim is to get it right in the camera!

Photoshop, Media, & Artwork / Lightpainting e30s

After reading of this guy's adventures of painting a car with essentially a 4 foot long fluro tube I wondered how I could recreate the effect myself. All I had was a 12" 12VDC fluro work light (plugged into the same car's ciggy lighter) and a bit of spare time, so after reading how he did it in seperate exposures I followed suit and started to "paint" the car with it.
This first shot is done with three seperate exposures (all 15s f/14), one to light the front and one each left/right.
The result, whilst not perfect, is good enough for me to share - i'm well aware that the sunroof isnt perfect and that the grill near the badge looks a bit bodge, but its all a learning curve right?

Second is the first one but with a bit of edit and having a lightning bolt hit the car (the 'bolt' is real, and not done in photoshop!), and the thrid one is side on.

Either way i think i'm happy enough with the result to try this again at some point.
CC Welcome as always, click for full res.

Someone here aaaaaaggggggggesssssssss ago was selling bmw like lettering (i think he had the letters m, i, e and t and the numbers 1,2,3,4,5,7,0), so i just stuck them onto a black bit of plastic and mounted it onto the grill.

Been away from M42club for a while now, life and the real world (tm) just getting a bit too busy!
Anywho thought i'd share a photo from the weekend's catch up with the euro car club of australia.
Never done something this drastic to a photo before, quite happy with the result!

Comments/Crit from the 'shop gurus welcome, i'd love to learn.
