Off-topic discussion / Upcoming Track Events
« on: September 11, 2008, 07:40:14 PM »
Speed Ventures has two big track day weekends coming up.  On September 20 and 21 they're
running the Full Competition Course at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana (formerly Cal
Speedway).  This is the "Roval" track layout with Turn 1 and Turn 2 of the Super Speedway
banked and linked to the Infield Road Course.  It's a split morning and afternoon
schedule so you can drive in the morning and still have your afternoon at the beach or
sleep late and drive the afternoon sessions, or both.

On Saturday the 20th at Auto Club Speedway, there's a designated low car-count run group
for high value vehicles (Ferrari, Lambo, other Supercars, etc.).  Half as many cars on
track, strict passing rules but with a max of 17 cars in the group, tons of wide-open
track.

The weekend after that there's a 3-day at Buttonwillow (Fri/Sat/Sun Sept. 26-28) with a
different course configuration on Saturday (the high-speed 18a configuration).   For the
Buttonwillow event, Aaron is still offering group discounts to drivers who can bring in
at least 5 registrations.

Both of these events are selling well and some run groups are likely to sell out soon.

Info on both events can be found at http://www.speedventures.com.

Get Togethers / laguna seca this monday feb 25
« on: February 23, 2008, 04:13:00 PM »
If you've got sick days coming to you, make this Monday, February 25th one of them because Speed Ventures is at Laguna Seca.  The weather looks perfect for a day at the track (dry with sun and clouds) and there are plenty of open spots.  Of course, with our limited car counts, that means loads of wide open track.  Register on the website (http://www.speedventures.com) by Sunday at noon or show up at the track Monday morning in time for our 8am drivers meeting.

Swaps, Turbos, Buildups / Has anyone swapped a Japanese motor?
« on: June 14, 2007, 07:01:57 PM »
I'm totally looking for another motor to put in a E30. I like the chassis, but the motor sucks. The other german motor options are pretty heavy for their power and cost, so I'm also looking at something non german to pop in there.

The fact that BMW people don't like it makes this idea that much sweeter. "Mmmm Bimmer boy tears..."

We have a track event coming up at Willow Springs on the "Big Track" and, as of this posting, we have only 39 people signed up, which is about 20 people each day. If you want wide-open run sessions and gobs of track time, this is an excellent opportunity. We are also offering group discounts. To sign up, or for more information, go to https://speedventures.com/6-30-2007_event.asp. Alternatively, you can call or email Speed Ventures at 323-461-4795 or events@speedventures.com.

Thanks,
