Engine + Driveline / Warm start stall

Im having the same issue guys.... I really havent looked into it much. For me it runs great under cold starting conditions. As soon as the motor is shut off and restarted it idles rough and you can smell the massive rich condition... All I do it give the car full throttle under load a few times and it fixes itself.  I have replaced the O2 sensor and the coolant temp sensor.  It all started happening after I replaced the alternator and fuel pump.  Im going to make sure the evap system is breathing like it should. Its rather annoying.

200k+ on mine the speedo hasnt worked in years. Oh and its seen lots of track time.

Timecerts are the move... I have used many in oil pans, the aluminum m52 blocks, etc...  They are a lot better and more reliable than heli-coils.  You need to be careful when your drilling and tapping, like anything else to make sure it goes in nice and straight... I Highly recommended TIMECERTS! let me know if you have anymore questions.

The 325 has a dual pipe, the 318 has a single... It wont bolt up. I ended up just making an exhaust for my car. You could make a Y pipe, but it would probably be more of a hassle that its worth. The oem mufflers are big bucks though. Good luck man!

Good thing it was the last track session this year around where i live.  Lime Rock Park is about 25 min. from my house... I was very surprised on how well my car handled. Next time i plan to do an intermediate group, the Novice was a bit too slow paced. Now I have all winter to spend time with the car. I can not stop thinking about it I want to be out there every day.

Lime Rock park in Lakeville CT. Nov 2. 2007.  This was my first track day with my car... Quite possibly the most amazing experence I have had.  Plan to do many many more in the future!!

I have a 91 318is, new water pump, thermostat, and radiator. My temp is always at 3/4's... everything on my gauge cluster works properly. I was just curious if anyone has had this similar problem.

I worked for audi for a couple years and let me tell you they are 100 times more difficult to work on and diag than bmws. I consider them the hardest cars to work on... When you get good there is quite a bit of money in those baby. Now I do race prep for mostly bmws. They are quite a pleasure to work on but I also do all the audi work in the shop, but it keeps you on your toes! good luck and congrats!
