Hello,

I have a M20B25 in a cab, auto, no cat.... great great car. super combo

I'm jealous only because the M42 is supposedly bullet proof with its chain. I also heard the M42 lust for revs. :)

So I wonder is it worth to buy an E30 318is if you have my car?

by the way no E36 plz! the real BMWs have 4 separate head lights who don't give a ^&##$ about aerodynamics. :D

i like the way you think :D for a brick like car you will need a torqy engine.so keep the m20 and install a manual+lsd diff.....and you my friend are going to have loads of fun.....oh ....just forgot to add ,the m20 sounds right too  even more in a cabby :D

Exterior / fitting

hey guys ...did anyone here ever fitted a m tech 2 kit to a cabrio ? i am having dificulties with fitting  the outer panles and side skirts ,can't locate the drilling jigs for the skirts on realoem or bmwfans.info ,and the guys at my local dealership said it doesn't need drilling  ,although i'm 99% sure they don't know what they are talking about, because the car doesn't have any holes on the beneath the door , and the plastic m tech skirt clearly fits by clamps inserted in holes drilled in the bodywork .....so , any ideea ? :D

So having owned my 318i for a couple months now my wife has taken to it and seems to think that adding a 318ic to the fleet seems like an okay plan. We would be selling the '95 Golf Sport she uses as a daily now and trying to pick up an IC in the $4000-$4500 range. She's always wanted another drop-top since she sold her '88 Cabriolet about four years ago.

Since everything else is the same as my car my one big question is...

do the tops tend to leak?

In VW land the MK1 cabby tops leak. Period. All of them. No matter what the owner claims. Seals are dealer only at about $800 and even if you replace them they leak.

I'm just covering my bases before commiting myself to this deal.

mine does. the top is brand new but i didn't replace the hood seals ....big mistake ....it always leaks where the corner of the triangle window meets the corner of the soft top and windscreen......
