According to the 318is ETM, C191 is located rear of the LH top corner of the engine. Reference fig 1, 7000-1. 8500-10 shows a picture of the connector pinning.

Is it the one pictured? I thought that was the C101? Or is that in fact the C191 and the C101 is the OBD port?

It's in that area according to what I can tell in the manual picture.

You can download the manual from the FAQ/Reference, M42 Reference section. It's pinned 5th thread down from the top.

It sounds like a vacuum leak. Check your intake boot from the airbox to the throttle body for cracks.

And don't feel bad. It's always the simple things with these cars. ;)

Hi and welcome to the forum.

The first thing that came to my mind was the catalytic converter is plugging up. Your car may, or may not, have one.

I found one of my outer lower ball joints worn, so I finally pressed new bearings into the spare set of control arms I had laying around. I intended to throw them on, but all I could hear in the back of my mind was, "Would Norm install a nasty looking, dull set of control arms on his car?"

So I took the time to clean, prep and paint them.

Damn you, Norm. Damn you.
I'm sorry you're having problems accessing the forum. I just sent you a PM to see if you get it through your Timothymcn account. I see nothing indicating a ban or a reason why you should be banned.
The black, single wire connector in the wire bundle running along the top of the firewall inside the engine compartment. There was a thread on it recently...like, in the past year. It's a sticky somewhere, but I don't have it off the top of my head.

OP, what are you adjusting on the AFM. I tried that on my former 320i without much success. Cleaning the tracks and looking for breaks is about the extent of what the effort is worth.

Hello and welcome to the forum. :)

I can't tell anything by the video, but the teeth on your timing chain sprockets are definitely worn. The M42 engine is fairly noisy as far as engines go and I've been asked twice in the last month by non-BMW enthusiasts if my car is a diesel. ???

You did a lot of work! I think downloading and posting the pictures with narrative was just as exhausting.:)

Hello and welcome to the 'Club.

"Your" car has the M10 4 cylinder, but quite a bit else is applicable to our cars. Nothing wrong with starting out with a low-mileage vehicle and it sounds like she took care of it.

Post up pictures when you have some. :)

That's a nifty bit of work! Nice job!
I was an MSF instructor while stationed overseas. The military, or at least the Navy/USMC, offered a Military Sport Bike Course and it was fun to swap different bikes and blast around the course.

Good luck towards the bonus! :)
