Title: 91 318is problems Plz help

So I just bought a 91 318is, it was fine when i got it. It ran smooth and great it seemed fine to me. It was due for an oil change. So i gave it an oil change. After I did, the car started stopping on me. It starts every time but quickly dies unless you keep giving it gas. I dont think i did anything wrong with the oil change because Ive done them so many times. The car was fine before the oil change it never turned off but now its acting funny and the check engine light also came on. Doea anyone have any idea what could be the problem? thanks to anyone who helps!

Check the oil dipstick and cap, Make sure it is sealed right. That woudl be the first place to look. You can also do the stomp test to see why the light turned on.

I had one that allowed oil into the plug wells because of bad valve cover gasket rings. It then shorted out the plugs firing. Just pull the wire cover and look in the plug holes.
