Hey all,
I was hoping to clean up some of my vacuum lines, what I was hoping to do is plug everything off and connect one line from the intake boot to the icv. I was just wondering if connecting a small air filter on to the valve cover breather will be a problem? For instance will it affect performance at all?

It could possibly throw off air/fuel settings as they are calibrated for the PCV gases entering the intake system downstream of the AFM. The same amount of "air" will enter but it will all be metered resulting in a richer mixture.
This is a guess. Perhaps some engine folks could address it.
Also the engine will still vent but not as well. It will be passive - not Positive as in Positive Crankcase Ventilation. The inside of the engine will crud up sooner. That is a fact. Also illegal.

I mentioned it to a mechanic and he told me the same thing, its best to have it hooked up to provide better ventilation. Also to prevent alot of oil smell wafting in through the vents :D I was able to get the lines cleaned up anyway, I took everything off and put all brand new tubing on (it used to be a huge mess, in fact one of the lines on there was from a ford :D )
