whered you guys mount your gauges just curious im looking to do something kinda oem ish hopefully i can find a driver side ac mount
-
ACSchnitzer has the best one in my opinion, above the mirror, where the check panel is on the 325 cars. if you use a 1/2" thick mount plate I think you could offset the depth to angle the gauges toward you more than he has, just a thought tho.
-
^Thanks... I used fiberglass and MDF so that I could angle it just the way you describe. I guess I could have angled it more though.

only thing is i would prefer a boost gauge that shows vacuum as well.
-
Yep... buying that shortly.
-
My idea.
-
Yep, Danny's pod was originally there. I just took the idea and improved on it by making it sturdier and tilting the gauges to the driver. Need to cover it in something better than speaker box carpet though...
-
I had that pleather type stuff on there, it looked pretty alright.

^Like that too... where did you get the gauge overlays in the cluster? Been looking for silver or white ones that were decent. ie non ricer...
-
I just want to know where he got the gauge needles, or if he painted them.
-
I took the whole cluster apart and scaned the gauge faces onto my computer and made them how I liked and then printed them out on photo paper, at night they light up completely red looks cool. The needles I just painted with a permanent marker. If your goin to try doing this be very very carful when ur pullin the needles off it will break very easy.
-
Interesting... what photo software did you use to edit the scans? I think I'll give that a shot since I have a spare cluster mucking about.
-
I dont remember anymore i did it so many years ago, i may still have copys somwhere ill try to find them and then i can just email it to you and all you will have to do is print them cut em out and install.

Ya if I can find them. The speedo will be in km though so you will have to figure out a way to change that if yours is in mph.
-

That would be much appreciated... I have templates already in the computer, but yours would help quite a bit from a design stand point.

You could do them in the compartment under the radio/above thrash tray if you have that open hole there.
-
Sorry to take this a bit off topic but I am very interested in how you did the clocks by using a PC as I am very interested in doing this my self:D
-
Sorry guys no luck on finding them.
Carlos, you can take the faces right off of the gauge heads, they are held on by 2 screws and the needle just pulls off. Then you just scan them onto ur computer and edit them how ever you like make the black white and the numbers black or what ever color you want them to be. Print them on photo paper cut them out and install. When you put them in though don't put the original faces on just the new ones.

Thanks mate I have a set of old clocks so I will give it a go :D
