Title: Obscure wheel question.
Post by: Ramblin MAn on September 29, 2009, 10:52:34 AM
I am trying to find out if any factory BMW wheels came with 60mm center holes. Anyone have any ideas?

The stock e21 and e30 wheels I have measure ~56mm. I looked on Bav Auto's site and they have hub caps which say 60mm in the description, but they also say they fit the same styles of wheels I have and when I called them they can only tell me that they fit the factory wheels and 60mm is the decal size, which is wrong because I just replaced my decals. So, obviously that guy had no interest in helping me.

Anyway, I am trying to find some of the chrome hub caps that came on the factory bottlecap style wheels but fit a 60mm center hole. If anyone knows please let me know.

I thought they were all 56.1mm 4x100mm bolt circle, just like VWs.  Different offsets & sizes, but otherwise the same for '02s, e21's & e30's.  I swapped some Jetta wheels recently, they fit perfectly.

I'm talking about the actual center hole, not the bolt circle. I thought the e28s had a different size center hole. I just want to see if I can get a set of the chrome center caps that fit a 60mm hole.

Now that you mention it, I recall them being different on our e12.  Likely the '02 as well.  They were little flanged metal caps that you'd push into the rear of the hub hole.  I'd just guess that they're 56.1. Maybe the vendor is rounding up?  If I find a 524td or '02 I'll measure them for you.
