This happened suddenly the other day. The engine suddenly has irratic idle and cuts off unless I keep the revs up.
I checked hoses (replaced last summer)

Idle Control Valve - happened to me as well, crappy idle with rpm gauge fluctuating and then engine justs stall.
-
No, I replaced it with a brand new unit yesterday. No change in symptoms.
-
throttle position sensor. get it plugged in and see what errors the ecu chucks up. mines doing this im sorting it today the tps is telling the ecu the engine isnt running at idle speeds because its failing. this causes the ecu to stop the fueling which makes it cut out
-
I was able to replicate this the other day for someone on another issue with the TPS. Unplugging it resulted in this behaviour.
-
where is it located?
btw the car runs now but gets terrible mileage and poor responsive on the throttle. Idle is steady.

Its the black plug on the side of the throttle body. Hope that gets it all fixed. My guess would be hoses, but since you checked those I got no idea.

Same thing is happening with my 89iS...
Replaced hoses, TPS and Idle valve and still the same... i think itīs possessed by some demon... :D

hmm, well I just ordered a new intake boot and throttle position sensor. Will update once installed.
