I suggest you do a lot more reading.

God damn it this is all outlined in a bunch of threads around here, if you can't read how the hell are you going to turbo your car?

Answer the GodDamn Question or GTFO

Chill out, he was being honest, as much as I hate to, I'm going to have to agree with Danny. You really need to do the research, not just on M42 Club, but put some reading time into specifications of turbos. There are programs and charts you could use to determine what injectors you will need according to the amount of air you will be forcing into the engine. Most of the people that turbo'd their M42's went by trial and error which works just fine for a home build that will primarily be a street car. Research is key to getting it right, and you need to understand how everything works to be successful.

If you actually built that car then i dont think you would be asking questions about a turbo build, considering the fact that there are no carbs on top of that blower, it must be efi. And if its efi then i think you would know a little about injector and blower sizing, the same principles apply for a turbo car

WOW, You came from mitsu land and still cant figure out bmw's. I cant figure out eclipses to save my life. This little 318 motor is by far the easiest Ive ever worked on.

Look if you really want a practicle daily driver spend some time and money on the suspension and brakes. BMWs really come alive with the foot work done. Then go for the turbo set up.

Agreed I love my E30, its is so easy to work on, the only car that I have owned that was almost as easy to work on was my Volvo 240 wagon. I have also worked on dsm's in the past and they are nightmares. Now whith what he said about "foot work" I would definitely do the suspension and steering before I touched anything else.

Plenty of E30 builds....

Same principles apply, they have the same engine and you can buy a reasonably priced ready made turbo manifold. As far E36 builds, BearsBMW has an E36 M42 turbo if I remember correctly.

the mitsubishi turbo that came on the volvos is the one to get, it is liquid cooled, but it is small, I would go bigger and would want a new turbo, even if it would be an ebay turbo.

Awgy you made me remember this...

So you went from practicle to ls1 then back to practicle.

For a simple practicle daily just run 22 -30 lbers from bosch, NOT DENSO you dsm nut. Keep your factory intake mani, and run no more than 8psi. As for your afm do you want it before or after your turbo, thats your preference. Same with icv, to run it or not. Both of mine are in factory locations working like factory.

You need a rising rate or a stand alone manegment. which ever you like.
there are some good IC on ebay for cheap. Pick your size.

as the Join Date states, ive been "reading" M42club threads since June w/ no real answers.

GTFO! you can learn a lot from reading, more than enough to complete your project. there are many bmw forums to learn from besides this one. You're not going to learn jack by insulting people who have already completed your project, that's for sure ;)

How would i upgrade the injectors?
Get bigger one, 300cc++
How will the Idle air system work?
should work fine, lots of norwegian builds have it on.
Should i change over to the E30 Intake Manifold?
dont know, but why ??
Dual mass clutch or convert to Single ?
depends on whp you want out of it.

Practical Daily driver?
no probs here, but then again how your tuning it..
keep the pressure between 0,5-0,8 youŽll have a nice funny car :D

sorry cant tell you what turbo to use.. iŽm not that in to mechanics ;)
but i use in my car:
ebay turbokit. AR 50/63
injectors 4x 300cc @3,6bar
turbo @1,3bar
sparks @ 0,6mm
chip with retarded egnition..
