Title: Input shaft torque specs for differential
Post by: aceofsnett on September 10, 2009, 01:08:34 AM
I recently bought a 325is (big) diff for my 91 318is. I replaced all the seals, cleaned it, and will be painting it with por-15 before it goes in the car. My question is, what is the torque value for the input shaft nut? I don't want to damage the input bearing, or torque it past the crush value. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

I appreciate it, but That... Doesn't really help. I didn't replace the bearing or crush sleeve, I'm simply putting the input flange back on. It is marked with yellow paint, maybe If I just snug it down and try to match that yellow paint it'll be fine. Anyone have any other ideas?
