I had my car up on the rack. How do I tell if I have a LSD? I think I do because when I was trying to tell I couldn't rotate the left wheel more than X degrees without moving the right wheel. But shouldn't there be a tage or something? I didn't see an S stamped on it like the e21s

in neutral, spin the back wheels forward, if the other goes the opposite direction, i belive its a open (non LSD) and if it goes the same its a closed (LSD)
someone correct me if i am wrong, that is just off the top of my head.

yes same direction spin is lsd

My car has issues. The rotors are all rusty and the brakes are grabbing. On my e21 if I rotate one wheel the other rotates also in the smae dirrection, but like I said this car has issues. If I am lucky I will have the rack this weekend and I'll get the rotors off and drop them off to get turned while I'm puting the gas tank back in.

I loved my E21. Euro spec 320 with Hartge goodness. An 18 wheeler tested the side impact beams I had put in... and they passed. :(

MMMMMmmmmmmm Hartge.
My e30 has an LSD. When I was putting the drive shaft back in, enough rust had wore off the rotors to allow them to spin free. When I turned the drive shaft, both wheels spun. It was that motor week video that scared me. They said it was an option.

Theres a little metal tag on one of the diff cover bolts that says if its an LSD or not.
It'll say S4.10 is it's an LSD a little sand paper will make it easier to read.
Luckily both my cars had the LSD option.
