Title: Vibration Damper Timing
Post by: TheDutch on August 18, 2009, 01:54:20 PM
Hi all, I'm in the middle of replacing my timing chain components and would like to double check that I'm timing everything up as best as possible. One concern I had related to the orientation of the vibration damper's toothed outer ring. I appreciate that the pulley itself is keyed but could do with my fears being allayed if possible.

Here is the chap:

1. Is the location of the 'gap' on the teeth correct in relation to the key?

2. What is the significance of the arrow pointing at the damper which is stamped on the engine near to the oil filter housing?

Any answers gratefully recieved,

Neil
