I see all kinds of cars missing the lower front lip spoiler. The one I just picked up is the same way. Whats the deal with these? Do they come off that easy and get ran over? I'm trying to decide on what to replace it with and a stock one looks to be the cheapest, but if it's just going to fall off maybe I need to look at aftermarket.
-
If they're plastic I think they get caught on kerbs and speed bumps and stuff, then get removed when damaged. I'm going to buy a cheap black rubber one from a Vauxhall (as I work for them, I've got one half under my desk already for free ;) ) or similar.
-
They can be pretty expensive if you don't buy one off the net--probably why most people don't replace them after they break.
TischerBMW sells them for 135 shipped, which is the lowest price around.
-
The OEM one is made out of ABS plastic and is VERY durable.
-
You have a link to the Vauxhall one? Never heard of them.
I'll check my local dealer. They are usually very reasonable. Go figure. But Bavarian Autosport has the oem 90 something plus shipping which is probably outrageous.
I have to make a list of all the parts I need to replace. Lots of little details I need to attend to.
-
Based on recent experiences, I am going to put a couple of screws in mine.
I had it parked at a hotel and some ass tried to steal it. The world is not a safe place for a spoiler.
-
I always carry a sling shot for those who may choose to steal.

Vauxhall Motors is part of General Motors Europe/Opel ;)
In the UK the Renault Laguna front rubber bumper splitter is quite a popular cross brand add on, so I was going to use the Vauxhall one on mine.

volvo lip for like 5 bucks is full of win.

You want to run that by me again? A little slower please because I didn't understand you.

who me...? do a search on volvo front lip.... i assume you have an e30... i didn't want to pay for the IS lip so i went to a junk yard and picked up a volvo lip and it is a great 5 dollar mod.
-
Sweet, you have any pictures?
-
I picked a lip from a 94' 940 Volvo today at a local junkyard. They charged me $20, though, not 5 bucks like dkbmxer002 mentioned (lucky him), itīs still 10 times cheaper than the OEM IS lip. Havenīt installed it yet, I will get it cleaned and painted first, then Iīll post some pics. Iīve seen some of them installed on R3V, check it out, they look great.

I too have a volvo 940 lip looks awsome...mounted with nylon zip ties believe it or not

+1
The guy I bought my car off of worked in parts at the local BMW dealership and as part of the deal he agreed to replace all the missing mouldings. He got me the OEM ABS one and its laughed at everything on the road without fail for the past 2 years. Very durable.

I was all gitty yesterday on my way to the local Pick-&-Pull becasue I was gona pick up a Volvo lip....out of the 10 "old" Volvo's there, not a single one had a effing lip! Are they really that popular? Are thy being modified to fit Civics too? WTF!
-
I've got one from a Renault Laguna (French car) now, its got small vents each side that will sit under the fog lamps :) That pick was a test fit of the megane item, that's why its got cable ties on.
-
they are becoming popular to put on other makes too.
-
