Title: And so the fun begins!
Post by: M42_Zach on August 10, 2009, 06:36:46 PM
Recently, signing up to this forum, intrested in MANY of threads, i decided to do my very own engine rebuild as my friend recenly bought a 318is M42 with all intentions off selling the engine and doing a 24v swap.

So, with that engine, i have taken the head off and all timing part etc. (Thread to come in the build section, when i have pics! Someones usuing the camera in another country atm, :/)

So, driving along, getting some parts local, i decided to take a detour and see some one ive just started seeing (soppy, i know!), only an extra 5 miles round trip out of the way!
I pulled onto the duel carrageway (A11, near norwich, if anyone is local). I get 1 mile down the road and not only did my radiator blow, but my mate who I called came and gave me a tow. He seems to diagnose the chain snapping. Its dark now, so cant start work until morning, :/. When i tried to start in again, before i called anyone, it the engine seems to turn over, but not start.

Anyone experience similar problems or the chain snapping and different problems. But while everything is off, im gonna replace the profile gasket and head gasket, as i haven't been told if either of these have been done... Hopefully running like a dream soon! (Fingers crossed)
