I took of my valve cover, intake manifold, TB and am down to lower intake manifold, fuel rail and injectors...just by studying it carefully, and im a novice at this btw...I need to pull the fuel rail off with the injectors to release the lower manifold. Is this correct?
I unscrewed the two nuts on the rail, and removed all nut on the lower manifold. Do I just pull up on the rail? It doesnt wanna seem to come lose?
What am I missing?
I also have to get to all these wasted hoses underneath, that'll be fun.

You can remove the manifold with the injecots still in it. The rail just gets stuck on the injectors really really well, and the injectors in the intake manifold. It takes a lot of very forceful, but careful, prying to get the rail off.

That might not be a bad idea? How do I detach the fuel rail from the main fuel line? Just a hose clamp? I haven't seen it yet.

As your doing all of this make sure that your battery is unplugged and you have something to catch the fuel when you detach the fuel line before you pull the fuel rail assembly away from the manifold. I've seen it where the injectors have stayed in the manifold and the fuel rail pulls away from the injectors. If you remove the injectors from the fuel rail/ manifold you should pick up some new o-rings for them.

Yeah what he said. I recommend removing the rail with the lower manifold off the car. There are 2 steel lines coming off of the rail, with 2 short pieces of rubber line clamped onto them. They can be a real pain to get off as I think the gasoline fuses the rubber onto the steel line. I just used a utility knife to remove them, and got more line from a ocal parts store for like 50-cents. Make sure it is high pressure fuel line you buy! Replacing the pressure regulator rubber line is a good plan as well.
A fair amount of gas is gonna spill out of the lines, so have some rags & a jar ready for that.
