Hi, I'm thinking about wiring in some engine room lighting as I believe mine is missing or not a standard item. There is a nice rectangular space for one in the bonnet/hood insulation...
I'm no electrician so here are my thoughts:
1 x lamp (I've got a Vauxhall Vectra B number plate lamp handy)
Some wire
Pin switch - activated by the bonnet or when the exterior lights are on
I'm guessing I'd have to feed the circuit through the fuse box to activate the lamp correctly. Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks, Sean

Nobody? Fair enough! Just thought it would be good for using at night.

Sean-stationary light isn't going to provide you with the needed light if you had to look for a problem under the hood, so just get a head harness light and keep it as your emergency equipment.

ok thanks :)

the e24 had a factory lamp, like the trunk light, but not very useful, but very cool looking.

I think some cool blue accents would be interesting :)

Now you're cooking, but make sure you run it with a toggle switch, because of the PO-PO. In Germany there not that bad about LED's, but if you run a red or blue---maaan! the polizei will pull you over with a quickness.

Well I was thinking more inside the engine bay and maybe behind the front mesh. I'm going to put some in the interior under the foot wells anyway :)

+1 on the head lamp. I keep one in my glove box. A nice bright LED one can be had for <$30.
