Title: Front caliper question ?
Post by: kote_alex on July 13, 2009, 03:37:34 AM
so I have non ventilated disks on my 94 e36 316i coupe... so I want to change my engine with a 1.8is ... but in order to do that I need ventilated disks in the front... so I want to go to a salvage yard and buy some used disks (in good shape ) and some caliper mountings to support the wider ventilated disks... but my question is ... will the calipers fit ? A non ventilated caliper could fit a ventilated caliper? because the ventilated disk is 10 mm wider ... should this work ?

Thanks !:D

I would guess that you'd need different calipers, which might require different caliper mounting hardware, which hopefully will work with your current wheels.

Check out this site and compare part numbers:

Once you select a part you can also see what other models that part is used on.

Just check Realoem.com and eliminate the guess work.
