Fucking hell.
I had a leaky fuel rail, a friend hooked me up with a spare one and that seems to have resolved the leak @ the rail, but now it's pissing fuel like no tomorrow at the inlet to the fuel filter. The filter is 5 months old and I replaced the hose going into it (new clamps too) and its still pissing gas.
Any thoughts?

For every action-there is a reaction-(newton's 3rd Law of forced Pairs), meaning-who's to say that between the time the fuel filter was purchased and now, that something has clogged it up. Pinch the lines between the fuel filter and check to make sure the filter doesn't have any foreign matter which brings me to the question of what fuel grade are you putting in the tank? (you never know with regular grade) if that's what you're going with and with prices these day's all I can say is DAMN!!!! This is what I've done to prevent stuff like this from occurring. (1st) Take a rubber O-ring of some kind and make sure it will fit really snug around the gas tank neck. (2nd) Find the smallest screen possible and run it in the inside of the neck--I'm talking a screen that wouldn't allow a micro-organism through, but you'll have to slow your pour at the pump. I had the same issue - replaced the fuel filter and upset the delicate balance preserving the integrity of the rotting fuel line. I eventually ended up replacing all the rubber lines with new - the rubber was dry-rotting. Check it out. You may be lucky/skillful and able to replace the line leading to the filter without having to drop the tank - I wasn't, had to drop the fuel tank to get to it. :(

As stated above, I already replaced the line going into the filter.
I also have a hard time believing a fuel filter worked perfectly and then *just* happened to clog right after I fixed the fuel leak at the rail.

Replace the hose and filter again.
