Title: Clutch adjustment
Post by: Windsma on June 29, 2009, 08:58:45 PM
I was under the impression that my clutch was slipping.

With the way i drive my foot is always on the clutch pedal. I noticed that there is pressure from my foot resting on the pedal.
So i dove it with my foot completely off and it was a little different.

Is there an adjustment that will allow me to have < 1/2 inch of travel before the clutch disengages?

Don't drive with your foot on the clutch pedal.

There should be about 1/2" of 'wiggle room' on the clutch pedal.  If you pull the lower trim piece from under the steering column you'll see what I mean.  While you're in there check for leaks off the windshield & plenum.

Definitely stay off that pedal unless you're shifting.  You'll wear out the cylinder seals & the throw-out bearing.

Ill try harder to be aware of it.

After driving a manual for 12 yrs its kinda difficult. I dont miss my non/hydro clutch.
