Title: Need your help please
Post by: carlos318is on June 06, 2009, 05:22:49 AM
I am trying to up grade my rear speakers to 6x9 in my E30 so I cut up a 1" spacer and went to fit them today but there is no chance they will fit with out cutting the metal and I didn't want to do that. So I was hoping that you guys might have a idea of the best way to fit them ;)

What's up Carlos, If you were sitting in your back seat-which way would you say that your 6x9's are facing towards the back of your neck?  I=long ways or -=strait forward, are you having difficulty finding space with the speaker diameter or the speaker face screen?  Is there something blocking the contour of placing the speaker in it's specified location?  Could you send some pic's ASAP, I have a soldier that works for me that came into the Army about 1-1/2 ago and that's all he did prior to the service in Arizona.  He need's the photo of the bottom side of the 6x9 and a shot of the location---this dude is a wizard of stereo set-ups.  We have a weapon's container(plastic)about the size of a small desk with 8 6x9's keenwood head unit and a old truck battery.---------dude!:>) send the pictures, and he'll give you the answer

I did some 5 3/4" cheapo 3-way Pioneers...had to line the grille up as far to the outside as possible.  Your speakers are probably too deep, but with the right spacer you could fit them.  There isn't much depth to play with, you might be better off cutting the metal deck underneath.  There isn't anything important running underneath besides the boot lid torsion springs.  Post some pics when you get it finished!
