Title: Magical starter from hell
Post by: e30Andym42 on May 25, 2009, 01:14:12 AM
I am removing my transmission.  I have 9 torx bolts removed, and one hex bolt removed.  The transmission slides back as it should, but wont go more than about 2.5 inches.  I check and see that the starter is still magically connected to the tranny.  It wont come off at all.  I've tried all I could.  I am completely out of ideas for this one.  I checked the diagram on realoem.com and still nothing rang a bell for me.  It will not come off.

What could I possibly be missing/forgetting?

there are two bolts and a guide pin that hold it in place, make sure both of the bolts are out then tap it with a hammer to get it off the guide pin
