Title: how can i tell if i have a lsd

can somebody run my vin for me or can you tell another way? i just got my e30 m42 and am new to everything. would anybody on here be willing to run a carfax for me? thanks so much for the help.

look on the diff cover, it should say S4,10 if it's LSD.

if it's missing, then just get some wet pavement, and rip the clutch in 2nd, if it walks back and forth in and out of the lane, you sir have an LSD. ;)

Jack it up to get both rear wheels off the ground. Rotate one wheel. If the other rotates same direction, it is LSD. If it rotates to opposite way, it is open.
