I saw a graphics place near the place im staying at in boston. Im here quite often so I'll stop by and see how much for stickers. I guess I'll start off with the m42club.com banner with the rondel. If someone has any other designs put them up

I can't get that stupid font (Futura Condensed) to work on my computer so I can make some kickass graphics for the site.

Photoshop is fun though.

Ok, now that there's some interest, do you guys prefer a plain M42Club decal or
one with some type of graphics? I might be able to carry this out, but that aspect is still floating in the air.

i think somthing plain would be good, like just the lettering in a nice font.

Vaaaaaht!!>!>!>???

No www?!?!  It could be done.

My other question...how many colors are we limited to on this decal, for sake of keeping cost to a sane level?  If there isnt a limit I will put the modern, shaded BMW roundel in there instead of the oldschool one, well if folks want.  I sorta like the older one (though it would almost be more fitting to an E21 club).  Hell, I love the REALLY old one with the red & blue outside.

I still like the top logo personally.  Plain and simple.  Maybe increase the font size a little bit but that's about it.  The logo that you made was nicely done, but seems a little cluttered with so many different sizes and fonts.

IMO, something simple, limited to a few colors would be ideal.

If you guys can wait until the end of the month I can have a buddy of mine help with the design and printing (hopefully keeping the cost down). Please keep the ideas flowing and perhaps we can settle on the colors and text to use (www or not).

Hi everyone.
How about a sticker with a very, very small fine print with the usual statement "This site is not affiliated with BMW AG or BMWNA....."

Hahaha.  That would be pretty funny actually.  I guess IF we need to worry about the licensing then that would work.  I have seen a LOT of organizations with the Roundel and modified versions of it without any disclaimers.  I think we'd be fine without one.

I guess get a quote for about 100 and see what his price is. We can compare it to another shop and see if one of 'em can drop their prices.

also you might want to ask how much like 150, 200 so on would be just to see if it would be a lot cheaper in more bulk.  We are growing fast so I don't think even 200 would go to waste.

I have a buddy that would be able to do this for fairly cheap, probably like 5 bucks a sticker I think is about the running rate, let me know if this sounds good. But I'd just need the design and he can only do single colors I'm pretty sure. I'll talk to him tonight though and let you know.

Well I already talked to my friend and he said he's down to do it, just needs the image that everyone decides on, and we're good to go. He can print in all normal colors(not multiple colors unfortunately, doesn't have that good of equipment since he runs the business out of his home) i.e. black, white, red, blue, basically whatever you want.  He also has this really cool brushed aluminum color, but it'd be a little more for that.  Once I get the image, I can have him make up a couple and we can go from there.

looks good to me (minus www).  we should keep them small, b/c i know a lot of us dont like lots of stickers on our cars anyways.  what do we know about color schemes?

i think it would look best w/o even the (com) part, but i know that ruins the advert + expansion idea.

Title: Need Graphics? Try WERKSHOP Graphics
Post by: WERKSHOPe30 on May 16, 2006, 08:56:25 PM
i believe eurospec is the one who contacted me.  Hello everyone my name is nimitz and i am a sales and marketing rep for a company called werkshop graphics, we are a san diego based graphic design company.  our services include clothing apparel (screen print or heat transfer), logos, designs, stickers, banners, business cards, letterheads and so on.  i have been in the e30 community for nearly 7 years and i drive a '91 318is with a few mods (although, in desparate need of a paint job)...always a project car.  I want to help u guys out, cuz i would definitely rock a sticker.  i agree with those who say go with the font and design about, although, i would rock colors that fit my car...but that why we're here in this thread; to come up with ideas.  i haven't viewed the site yet so i don't know who all the SD people are on this thread, but i have like 12+ friends or people i know that rock e30's and at least half have 318is's.  right now i have to meet with a client on shirts but i hope i can help in anyway not only in stickers but in our other services as well.  currently our site is under construction, but the url is http://www.werk-shop.com (WERKSHOP Graphics) and once again im the newbie on this site but a long time e30 enthusiast.  hope to hear from u guys.  e30 fo life.

Febi is out of state at the moment, though I will probably be with him when I call. and can discuss things then.

You've got the design.  Why not make a few and see how they look.  I think this is a good deal as 318iEnthusiast is volunteering to do it on the cheap!

I'd buy one or two and try it out on the car, although I really want to make a full-color reverse window sticker for the club.  I'm more than happy to design the decal, have them made, etc...   But, I just don't want to do the money and shipping part.  I just don't have the time.

I actually like it Eurospec...   But, I think the original "BMW script" text will probably win overall.  We'll let the community decide.  I do like colors though!

What about incorporating a line art picture of the iS?  See below.

There is a member here that's really good with AutoCAD as well, and may be willing to make something for us.

I like it but wouldn't mind it in blue and white or the M stipes on it

maybe the white line-art with some M striping (like the 2002 Turbo or CSL).  I think on my car i would want something fairly simple and discreet, not very showy, traditional text, etc..

my boi outlined the side view of my car and he tweeked it up a lil bit, now i know it says "STINGS LIKE A BIMMER" but i got that from the Pixar movie cars CARS...this outlined design is strictly for e30ers only so the words inside can change...tell me what u e30 heads think...

thats a great idea i looked into doing that design myself at least the car, but the overall idea is a scratch using vinyl cuz there is way to much detail invloved...even the idea i got is nutty cuz the lines are so thin that if u get a lil squirrelly on the lines the whole desgin looks like a**, so we're trying to get the lines thicker or flip it around and do the negative version of our design...

that desgin is great for a printout sticker, bumper sticker style...even screen printed on...
