We need them STAT. Discuss.
-
Good Idea. I'm in
Brian
-
I saw a graphics place near the place im staying at in boston. Im here quite often so I'll stop by and see how much for stickers. I guess I'll start off with the m42club.com banner with the rondel. If someone has any other designs put them up
-
I can't get that stupid font (Futura Condensed) to work on my computer so I can make some kickass graphics for the site.
Photoshop is fun though.
-
Oh yeah, almost forgot about that. Well, let's start makign soem stuff & posting it up!
-
i love where this is going!
-
Ok, now that there's some interest, do you guys prefer a plain M42Club decal or
one with some type of graphics? I might be able to carry this out, but that aspect is still floating in the air.
-
i think somthing plain would be good, like just the lettering in a nice font.

Agreed. Just add the roundel.
-
Simple and to the point is best!
-
I was thinking of just using whats at the top of this page. Maybe add www infront of it.
-
+1 for the logo at the top. Doesn't need the "www." IMO.
-
I like the logo at the top, no www. It get The Godfatherer's approval.
-
Werd, I like the logo at the top.
hey guys!

hey guys!
Welcome, glad you made it here.
-
Alrighty. Here is my idea for a logo. Close to the one up top, but with a little bit of change.

Got my approval FWIW.:D
Dan.
-
Looks great!
-
That decal looks killer. Only thing i'd do to it is get rid of the www. part
-
Vaaaaaht!!>!>!>???
No www?!?! It could be done.
My other question...how many colors are we limited to on this decal, for sake of keeping cost to a sane level? If there isnt a limit I will put the modern, shaded BMW roundel in there instead of the oldschool one, well if folks want. I sorta like the older one (though it would almost be more fitting to an E21 club). Hell, I love the REALLY old one with the red & blue outside.
-
I still like the top logo personally. Plain and simple. Maybe increase the font size a little bit but that's about it. The logo that you made was nicely done, but seems a little cluttered with so many different sizes and fonts.

I'll run to a graphics shop today and get a price on what you have so far w/o the www's.

Jajou, where the hell you been????
-
IMO, something simple, limited to a few colors would be ideal.
If you guys can wait until the end of the month I can have a buddy of mine help with the design and printing (hopefully keeping the cost down). Please keep the ideas flowing and perhaps we can settle on the colors and text to use (www or not).

+1, id have to agree with the www as well
-
Are there any, cough, liscensing concerns with the roun.... ?

Me too, id be in for one.

werd...somebody should look into that.
-
so uhhh... anyone looked into the whole licensing thing?
-
we don't need no stinkin' licenses...
Hi everyone.
How about a sticker with a very, very small fine print with the usual statement "This site is not affiliated with BMW AG or BMWNA....."

Hahaha. That would be pretty funny actually. I guess IF we need to worry about the licensing then that would work. I have seen a LOT of organizations with the Roundel and modified versions of it without any disclaimers. I think we'd be fine without one.
-
Sign me up too!
-
I'm diggin the design, count me in for one and if u need any help, I'd b glad to help setup anything w/ the design or getting it printed or stuff like that. I'll ask my gf's dad where he gets his shop's stickers printed, I'll get back to you in a day or two of that if I can get a price.
Brendan
-
I'd just rock something simple and all black if that's an option. I don't like having too many stickers on my car.
-
so lets get the ball rolling on this!
anyone know who can make the stickers for us?

I thought we were going to wait to see what eurospec's buddy can do for us. The graphics shop i used to go to is no longer existant so I'll see if I can find another one on my way to and from work today.
-
I'll get in contact with the guy and report back. How many do you guys think he'll need to print?
-
umm...100ish?
-

I guess get a quote for about 100 and see what his price is. We can compare it to another shop and see if one of 'em can drop their prices.
-
also you might want to ask how much like 150, 200 so on would be just to see if it would be a lot cheaper in more bulk. We are growing fast so I don't think even 200 would go to waste.
-
I have a buddy that would be able to do this for fairly cheap, probably like 5 bucks a sticker I think is about the running rate, let me know if this sounds good. But I'd just need the design and he can only do single colors I'm pretty sure. I'll talk to him tonight though and let you know.
-
Haven't heard back from my friend.
I'll report back once I do.
-
I'm in.
Chris
-
Well I already talked to my friend and he said he's down to do it, just needs the image that everyone decides on, and we're good to go. He can print in all normal colors(not multiple colors unfortunately, doesn't have that good of equipment since he runs the business out of his home) i.e. black, white, red, blue, basically whatever you want. He also has this really cool brushed aluminum color, but it'd be a little more for that. Once I get the image, I can have him make up a couple and we can go from there.
-
i'm down for a white one, or 2
-
I'm down w/ white ones also, 2 of them for me
-
:) count me in for a couple
-
I just need a design that we all agree on, or at least the majority, and I can have a few samples made up, take some pics of them, and we can go from there.
-
I'm cool with white, like the logo on the website, and plus or minus the www - machts nichts.
-
i'd be down withouit the www, its ovious there is www in it.
-
Ya, I liked the logo that was earlier in this same thread. But it doesn't matter, I'll rep it either way w/ whatever we decide on.
-
looks good to me (minus www). we should keep them small, b/c i know a lot of us dont like lots of stickers on our cars anyways. what do we know about color schemes?
i think it would look best w/o even the (com) part, but i know that ruins the advert + expansion idea.
-
I'm in for 1 of whatever final design is acccepted.
-
I know a good 2 or three people in britain of this site that would also love this sticker if one of you would be so kind to ship three to my address i will pay of course!
-
Whats the deal with these stickers anyway? Eurospec, is ur friend going to handle this or should I go look for shops and get prices?
-
I guess nobody reads my posts haha. I think people were still debating about the final design in a different thread, but my friend is more than willing to mass produce whichever design people decide upon.

The info gets lost in threads. If it is final and ready, I would suggest a new thread to take orders.
-
if someone wants to give me a design... i'm taking screenprinting, i can get them cheap and send them out for a little $$$ i can't do like 1000 a day.. but if you want i can got about 10-20 a day for about a week... so like 100-150 i can print for a fraction of the cost of getting it done...
-
I'd definaltly be in for one or two....
-
I'll take the decal either way. WWW or no www, it looks good!
-
Im in for 2 small ones for 1/4 windows.
-
Count me in for 2 or 3 - shipped to Australia.
-
i'll take 2 of that there white colored ones
-
I would be up for 2, represent the club and all.
-

-

-
Since I now get out of work earlier I guess I'll take my lazy ass to a few sign shops and try and get prices.
-
Just PM'ed this guy on r3v LINK (http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=68681)

i believe eurospec is the one who contacted me. Hello everyone my name is nimitz and i am a sales and marketing rep for a company called werkshop graphics, we are a san diego based graphic design company. our services include clothing apparel (screen print or heat transfer), logos, designs, stickers, banners, business cards, letterheads and so on. i have been in the e30 community for nearly 7 years and i drive a '91 318is with a few mods (although, in desparate need of a paint job)...always a project car. I want to help u guys out, cuz i would definitely rock a sticker. i agree with those who say go with the font and design about, although, i would rock colors that fit my car...but that why we're here in this thread; to come up with ideas. i haven't viewed the site yet so i don't know who all the SD people are on this thread, but i have like 12+ friends or people i know that rock e30's and at least half have 318is's. right now i have to meet with a client on shirts but i hope i can help in anyway not only in stickers but in our other services as well. currently our site is under construction, but the url is http://www.werk-shop.com (WERKSHOP Graphics) and once again im the newbie on this site but a long time e30 enthusiast. hope to hear from u guys. e30 fo life.

oh i really wanna get an e30 shirt made and to sell...for all e30 heads not just m42's

Sounds good if you ask me. As for the decals, are we sticking to the original design or will you start from scratch?
Glad your made it :)
-
preview of two shirts we made. oh we originally started werkshop to do a hip hop clothing line...just wanted to mention that before i headed out. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/stridenEVOe30/Shoes/Dsc08581.jpg)

as far as the design is concerned i am up for anything, but if we use the one on this site i need written consent from the owner of this site before i go ahead with production...we have copyright laws and i would hate for a lawsuit to come out of this. lets keep talking about it. i'll be around.
-
Sweet, I'm looking forward to this.
FYI, Febi Guibo is the person you'd want to speak to in regards to the original design. He's currently on a road trip though.
-
I will try and give you a call tomorow Nimits, as I run this and another site and would like to get some stickers made for it as well. The other site could use shirts too.
Febi is out of state at the moment, though I will probably be with him when I call. and can discuss things then.
Doug

can't wait...feel free and call or email or PM at anytime. im so excited now.
-
any of u guys from the San Diego area, we have a Wednesday EURO Meet at a boba cafe in clairemont...i'll post it with a link in the Gathering section, if there is one here.
-
What's the verdict folks??
I'd like to rep this forum at an upcoming meet.
-
We need to decide on a final design first.
-
My vote anyway. Git 'er done! Anyone with that signature desrves to be followed into the breech. Tell me how much and where to send $.
-
I am good with what bmwman91 had that looked great to me maybe lose the www. has anyone heard from WERKSHOPe30 on any of his designs??
-
I like bmwman's decal but with no www. and make the M42 the same size as the rest.
-
I'm working on a design, should be ready in the next day or two.

Make sure it is really high res.
300dpi I think is reqired for a good print.

I'll take note of that, thanks.

You've got the design. Why not make a few and see how they look. I think this is a good deal as 318iEnthusiast is volunteering to do it on the cheap!
I'd buy one or two and try it out on the car, although I really want to make a full-color reverse window sticker for the club. I'm more than happy to design the decal, have them made, etc... But, I just don't want to do the money and shipping part. I just don't have the time.
WerkshopE30, can you do inside window decals? Three color?
-
Ok, here's what I came up with. The background will be transparent so please disregard the border. What do you guys think?

I actually like it Eurospec... But, I think the original "BMW script" text will probably win overall. We'll let the community decide. I do like colors though!
What about incorporating a line art picture of the iS? See below.
There is a member here that's really good with AutoCAD as well, and may be willing to make something for us.
-
yeah I thihnk if that was in the text of the site logo it would be really hawt!!
-
Keep the comments coming...
-
I like it but wouldn't mind it in blue and white or the M stipes on it
-
maybe the white line-art with some M striping (like the 2002 Turbo or CSL). I think on my car i would want something fairly simple and discreet, not very showy, traditional text, etc..
-
How does this look?
-
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/stridenEVOe30/Random/e30_Sticker.jpg)
my boi outlined the side view of my car and he tweeked it up a lil bit, now i know it says "STINGS LIKE A BIMMER" but i got that from the Pixar movie cars CARS...this outlined design is strictly for e30ers only so the words inside can change...tell me what u e30 heads think...
-
How does this look?
thats a great idea i looked into doing that design myself at least the car, but the overall idea is a scratch using vinyl cuz there is way to much detail invloved...even the idea i got is nutty cuz the lines are so thin that if u get a lil squirrelly on the lines the whole desgin looks like a**, so we're trying to get the lines thicker or flip it around and do the negative version of our design...
that desgin is great for a printout sticker, bumper sticker style...even screen printed on...
