sorry to bother everyone. i have a 1991 318i and i want to know which gearbox it has, and can the gearbox from a 1991 325i works in it. thank u

Also check RealOEM.com if you haven't already. You can see the two models diagrams, check part numbers too.
The flywheel is the same size, but the gear teeth are different, so you'll need a starter too, or swap flywheels. I'm not sure of the gearbox length or the shifter selector shaft either. The 240 tailshaft has an odd vibration damper on it too.
Best bet would be a whole 260 gearbox, clutch, flywheel, drive shaft, starter & shifter from the donor 325.

260 box has a different angle of tilt so gear-linkages will need modding...

Sorry to jack the thread, but does anyone have the ratios for the e36 box or any of the e36 1:1 5th ratio gearboxes?

did all E30 325īs (i, is, e) came with the same G 260/5 tranny?
I have the same car as OP and was asking myself similar question. Just checked realoem.com to find out ours were/are equipped with the Getrag 240. Thanks!
