Title: JB Racing flywheel and 4.10 LSD
Post by: mach schnell on May 04, 2009, 10:51:33 PM
I saw a JB Racing flywheel and 4.10 LSD for sale on E30Tech: does anyone have that combination?  Is it a good setup for HPDEs?

I think the E36 M3 uses this LSD or maybe E30 M3 can't remember.

JB Racing flywheel is meant to be good, but I think someone on this forum said it reduces engine braking. Not 100% sure though. The lighter flywheel will give you alot better acceleration due to reduced mass on the crank but will proberbly cause a little more vibration through the gearbox.

it increases engine breaking because the reduction in rotational weight. I am using a 9lb flywheel which I think is a pound lighter than the JB, and used to have a 4.10 until I blew it up, but while it was in there it was perfect, It loved higher RPM's and the engine breaking was nice, you do loose a little top end though with the light weight flywheel.
