Title: REQUEST: Removing PVC paint on rocker panels & repainting body color.
Post by: bmwman91 on July 13, 2006, 02:44:54 PM
Anyone have good tips for getting the PVC paint off of the side rocker panels and rear valence?  (Preferably without hurting the body paint underneath).

Aaand, anyone know of a source for BrilliantRot paint, in a real quantity that I could use in my spray gun?  Thanks.

Ewww...  Don't do it man!   Keep her rockin' the black underpanels.

I'll put some pics online, but I'm repainting mine with a brush and a can of POR-15 black paint.  POR-15 isn't the easiest stuff to work with as it's like an epoxy or glue, but is darn near as strong as powder coating and can be easily applied with an ACE Hardware $2 paintbrush!  :D

I did the very bottom edge of my rockers last weekend as there was some rust and I needed to replace the reinforcement bars and bolts that go into that rear subframe piece.  I was so thrilled with how it turned out, I've decided to re-paint the whole thing.
