hi im new on here ive got a fast drip leak coming from where the gearbox meets the engine could this be the upper sump gasket?
what are the best seal's to use oe or are there uprated seal's you can buy

If it's a fast drip, I would suspect a rear main seal.

why would this happen what would better to use bmw or aftermarket

Depending on age/mileage, it's worn out. I used BMW when replacing mine.

are they strong seals or did you use some sealant with it once i do it i dont really wont to do it again lol

the rear main sits inside of a plate that is bolted to the block, they make a gasket for it but its so thin that it seams pointless, i always use a thin bead of rtv, and make sure you get the corners where it meats the oil pan. you also have to be careful that you get the rear main on the crank right, its kind of difficult to make sure the rear lip doesn't fold over.

do you need any special tools why would it go in the first place one minute it was fine then next thing leak
just had the engine rebuilt last year was sitting in garage for few months waiting to go back in the car
COULD IT BE MOUSTURE IN winter weather

you don't need any special tools to replace the rear main, but you will need some inverted torx sockets to remove the tranny
