Title: Writing off a car

hey guys.... wanna get rid of my car. its done 300kms an i have had my moneys worth out of it. its well used now lol. I will only get about 4k here for it an get 7k from insurance... any ideas??? got a mate with a farm an lots of tree's that can uhhh get blown onto my roof..... im over it an want another one. any suggestions?

chopped down two trees an got a mates car. was a heap of shit mazda an he callled insurance today. will see how it goes.

This is yet another reason insurance rates continually go up.

Do the right thing and just sell your car and buy another one.

I'm still surprised he can get more for the car through insurance than private sale.  That's not how it is here in the states...

all im saying is that nothin is selling in aus at the moment... insurance has always paid really well and so many people do it over here.. its not a normal thing but if someone say they have done it then it doesnt sound bad. they do it with houses. businesses and especially trucks. it costs about 1k aus for excess but u make about 3-4k on a car thats worth around 10k usually. and it takes about 3 to 4 weeks for them to pay u out. i know it sounds stupid. its just how our system works

what a waste of a perfect car, no wonder why these cars are increasing in price
