So... How much does the kit cost? Have you seen one installed in person, on an M3?  Are you running a stock M42? Are you planning on installing this kit yourself or with the help of a professional body shop?  Do you currently have a "whale tail" spoiler installed?

Basically it sounds like a horrible idea unless you 1) have experience with body work 2) are very serious about entering your car for competition racing 3) have tons of money/time to waste 4) are not an idiot.

This may seem like a harsh, out-of-my-ass response, but ask yourself seriously: Why are you considering this rather extreme modification?  If you want to spend a bunch of money to get more out of your M42, consider an engine package from Metric Mechanics or sourcing a Downing-Atlanta Supercharger kit.  Carbon Fiber has its proper place but would just be stupid on anything but the most extreme/dedicated track & race car.

its not going to look right with out the rear fenders being flared to match.  and yours is a four door so there is no available flare kit.  that means 100 percent custom fabrication.  i considered it on my autocross 89 325i 4 dorr i used ot run but the cost of doing the rear would've been prohibitive to me.  the fenders are a bolt on item but hte backs are a no go.  you cannot just tack weld on the rear fenders because the rear window on an m3 sits differently then our rear windows because of the trunk being different

+1 it will look like one of those hondas with the wide 1 piece front end you see at the drag strip if you dont do the rears to match

A local guy here is doing an 4 door touring Iĺl link pics later, that would be an option too, using carbon doors for example or even changing body panels....

theres a place down south by L.A and they have a wide body kit called the obsession kit its made for 2 doors but my quest for a 4dr e30 m3.. i think it would look bad ass... i saw a pic on the internet that has turned the e30 wagon into a wide body me version and i thought it look cool.... im all bout being different... i know ppl here will say thats a waste of time but i also did research that our body style cars can almost fit any rear wheel drive motor and i think thats awsome
