Anyone know of anywhere in the US where there are M42's or e30 engine's sold?

I have tried

Bav auto recyc
All local junkyards in mass.
Junkyards in other states
Pages upon pages of google searches...

Please let me know if you know anything...

bro, thought you were gone but,

i know of a 318i, the motor is good(well the whoel car for that matter lulz), the whole car for 300$ cash money

i'm tellin ya, its a sick buy.

if i were you, i'd just sell your iS, and buy up another one. they're really not that ahrd to find if ya know what your looking for.

also, try joining up on r3v, its a bigger community = more chances of you finding what you want.


but, GL with whatever you do. ;)

Nope, I couldn't leave this site if I wanted to!!!! Too much useful information for me!!

I have joined R3V and can't find much there either...

Is this an M42 engine in the car for $300  and where is it located?

In my area, there are only two other e30's... I have put too much time and money, $10-15 k into this car an I still love it no matter what it does to me!!

The only reason im not selling it is because the chassis is still straight and square, the body is cosmetically sound, (beautiful paint but needs hood and fender), not too bad damage, (check albums).

Also, I know this is my first car, but it is so sporty that I can not part with it!!! I have had such an emotional connection with this car it's weird... Call me a baby, but I still cry if I look at it for more than a minute...

I love it because it is just you and the car.  An Audi is WAY too plush for me and I enjoy the spartan yet nice interior on these e30's...

A radio, seatbelts, heater/ ac and a third pedal is all I need in the car, and the car does it just right for me!!!

Please let me know!!!

If I could have those it would be great! I'm looking for one in the next two weeks and then I'm making the switch to a 1999-2001 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS... Much different but a great car. I would much rather have my car though so anyone with an engine let me know!!!

If I can find a nice affordable engine, the e30 will stay.  If not within the next 1-2 weeks, I'm selling my baby and will be purchasing a Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS that I have found.


It will only stay if I can find an engine, otherwise, someone here is going to get a REALLY nice e30...

I would swap but I dont have that much experience to change out wiring harnesses by myself.... I really REALLY want to save this car but this is how my parents broke it down for me:

Options

1) Keep the e30 and fix it with the 2,300 the insurance company gave me, no extra money from parents.  I will have to keep the car home during the winter months because it will be too dangerous to drive it back and forth from Pennsylvania to Massachusetts in the snow... BAH!!!!

2) Sell the e30 and all wheels and tires/ other things for the car and see where I am money wise there plus the 2,300.  Parents will help me so that once I have the money from my car, they will give me a few hundred so I have 5,000 to spend on a new car... Looking at Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS or Audi A4 1.8t...

I would love option 1 but I wont have a car while being 6 and a half hours from home...

I really dont want to switch cars, but there are no engines under 750 dollars that are in good running order...  I had one on here for 600 but the deal fell through...  I would do that, but there are none to be found...

I am probably going to go with option two :( just because I can't live without a car...
