whats the ideal size tires for these rims? low profile perfered.
-
Wish I knew the stock tire size...then I could help you out a bit better.
Don't go wider than a 225. You can squeeze plenty of tire onto almost any size rim, but for a 7" you won't get much benefit from going beyond that.
For a 15" it's hard to get a "true" low profile. A 45 series is about the best you're gonna get...something like a 225/45/15 would be pretty nice. 205/50/15 is a very popular tire size as well. I honestly don't think a 50 series looks that bad...you want *some* sidewall on the tire or a pothole is going to eat your wheels for lunch.
I don't know what any of those sizes do to gearing.

i should have said lower profile. ive got 205/50's on my stratus r/t and they dont look bad on a 15in rim. i figure im going a inch taller on my rims i can afford to lose a little sidewall and still have the wheelwells filled nicely. soon as i get these gold rims media blasted and polished or painted ill go to the tireshop and pick up a set.

on a 15 inch wheel, use a 205/55r15 or a 225/50r15

thanks guys.

rim choices first pic is the 15x7 second is 16x7.5 i really like the first ones but the gold aint gonna sit well with a sterlingsilber 318 so they will need to be refinished, polished or painted.

just to give you an example on the same wheels. i run staggered for autocross to help deal with how easily the rear end slides out on bmws.

i could live with 225/50/15's. they wouldnt look to bad on the first rims i posted. 225/45/15's would look better but im not gonna shell out $125.00 a tire for my DD just to chew up on the roads here lol

im thinking the first rims done up in silver. photoshoped stock pic
