will the ansa cat back for the 325 fit our cars? is it worth it?
i heard good things about the super turbo and i wanna get it but wat are the offsets and other dimensions that suit the 318is?
-
if at all possible you should try to stay away from Ansa.
I got the 318is catback setup for my car and within 4 months the welds on the muffler cracked off.
After that I purchased a welder and made my own exhaust using a magnaflow resonator and cat along with the ansa muffler. If you endup going this route check out http://www.hottexhaust.com they've got very good prices on components.

How did the setup sound? I have a Supersprint now that I have had for 6+ years, and i KNOW it is gonne die someday. It is not much louder then stock at all, and maybe a little more agressive when I am pouncing on it.
How does the magnaflow stuff sound relative to stock?
-
thanks guys
i dont have time to build my own exhaust right (with 10 million other projects going on) now i just need a muffler with the proper #'s so i can get the muffler shop around the corner to fab me up a cat back... ive heard from atleast 5 m42 owners that the dynomax super-turbo is wicked pimp for its price, so i went there and they told me dont come back without the 'offset' and some other info, does anyone know these?

The ansa catback didn't sound any different than stock.
the setup I'm running now with the magnaflow resonator and cat sounds just a bit deeper, but isn't loud at all. At highway speed there's not any drone to worry about and when you step on it the magnaflow resonator flows much better than the stock one or the one on the Ansa catback i got, but still gives enough back pressure so when i'm just crusin down the highway I get good gas mileage.

Ive got the superturbo and love it. Throaty tone, and no droning. Nobody can tell its only a 4 with my debadged trunklid. I have it running out of a 3" tip and it looks decent, although I think I got a rookie who hung it up there.

would be able to take maybe a 10 second video of your car accelerating with a digital camera for us?
im looking for something thats just a little different than stock, but essentially not louder...

I have the dynomax superturbo and i love the sound of it. Not to loud until I gun it. I have the 2.25 inlet with center in offset out but I think ur supposed to get offset in offset out. you can find a sound clip of the exhaust on an m42 here:

how much louder is that than stock?

i just finished ordering this muffler from summit, anyone know how loud it is with the resonator cut off?
-
I had the resonator chopped off on my first 318iS, with hi-flo cat & stok muffler. It was not too loud, frankly I almost couldn't tell the difference. I also had a loud exhaust leak though, probably covering it up.
If you wanna do some custom fabbing lemme know. I have a MIG welder in my garage in San Jose. I am always down to concoct some sort of custom madness.

i got the dynomax superturbo muffler installed and the resonator cut off and it sounds great, however it has a ricey sound to it. too ricey for my taste, even my friends who hear me drive away say it sounds like a little rice rocket. i like the deep tone to it but theres a little sound on the end of it that i dont like. anyone else have a problem like this? who else cut their resonator off?
-
Eh, I just installed a new OEM muffler. My last one rotted out under the metal straps. The metal straps also rusted away until they were paper thin and they broke. On the positive side, a lot of the ricers around here like the sound :)
