Title: Bilstein holds its reputation but what about Vogtland?
Post by: AlpineRob on March 20, 2009, 10:16:23 AM
Last summer i put new 16" rims on my 'is' but the car sits too high and has too much roll..I found this package deal on ebay but it seems too good to be true..seeing how the shocks and springs come to 400 with shipping..anyone have experience with these springs or shocks..? are there missing components that i will also have to purchase? thanks! ALSO: with a lowered suspension will my 16x7s rub against the new shocks or anything?

Depends on the offset of the 16x7s...but if they're not rubbing now I don't think you'll have a problem.

They don't mention if those are the Bilstein HDs or the Sports. Ask them. That's ridiculously cheap for new Bilsteins...sounds fishy. Or maybe I've been looking in all the wrong places.

Never heard of Vogtland. A quick search shows they make lots of springs for other cars too. Ask the seller if they know the spring rates. If they don't...IMHO, walk away.

The ad says they are Bilstein twin tube shocks. I think they are the regular factory replacement black shocks that they make. If you look at other listings from the same seller, he is selling a kit with Billy sports with the Vogtland springs for several hundred more.
