Title: Replaced faulty sensor- CEL turned off but code remains
Post by: ThisIsTheRanger on March 13, 2009, 05:46:24 PM
I just replaced my AFM with a used one because I was getting code 1224-Intake Air Temp Sensor.  The check engine light went out as soon as I started it up again but when I check for codes with the stomp method, I still get code 1224.  Do I have to reset the computer to get the code to go away?  I tried unplugging all of the injection control fuses for a while to no avail.  I figure the new AFM has a working IAT because the light went out but what's with this code?

I remember reading about a way to clear the fault codes stored in the ecu. I don't remember how though. I would try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes.

Thanks guys. That worked. I just didn't want to lose my stereo settings but for some reason they stayed. Now get code 1444 :)
