Title: funny starting bumps
Post by: asmith88 on March 06, 2009, 10:48:40 AM
ive never had any problems starting my 318 is but it has always had a weird bump. when it starts warm the revs bouncetwice then settle, no problems driving just this.

i was told there could be an  air leak.. so found this

got a new pipe but cant get it on, there is a big silver metal pipe..

this..

which the pipe fits arround, but i cant get it out. it seems to go quite far in..

my question is how doi get this metal pipe out and the pipe on and also could this be the problem of my wonky starting?

cheers andy

Not a direct answer, but a solution to that is found in the 'mess under the intake' thread.

Where there is one vac leak, there are many more hiding just out of sight. See the link in my signature.

I would remove the intake manifold and have a good luck under there.
