Title: GAS LEAK from fuel rail
Post by: charlesmarseille on February 23, 2009, 10:08:48 PM
hey guys, i guess its coming from the fuel rail, well its really leaking.
removed the upper intake manifold to see that about half a cup of gas was just over the lower intake manifold, near the injectors. could you tell if my injectors orings are done? could this be it? or just the fuel lines that connect to the rail that failed? thanks in advance

I doubt that it's the injector o-rings.  I would look for a defect where the fule line attaches to the fuel rail.  If the fule lines have been replaced, make sure it's fuel line (fuel injector/high pressure) not fuel hose (low pressure) and if it has not been replaced, then do that.  It's about $5-7 per foot and you only need short segments from the frame rail to the fuel rail.  You may also have a bad FPR but you won't know until you look at it.  You should be able to turn on the key and see where it's leaking as it will pressurize the fuel rail as soon as you get to the "run" position.

Good luck and be VERY careful.

Rob.
