Ok, so, the fuse that controls my dash lights (lights behind the guages and on the center console) keeps blowing. I don't know where to start for this one. I know there is a short somewhere but I don't have a bentley or anything to help me out. Anything that would point me in the right direction would be of much help.

Install a higher rated fuse :P

When does the fuse blow? Imediately when you put in a new fuse? Only when you turn the lights on? Driving over bumps?
If you can determine this it will help to work out where to start.
I had a fuse that blew when I changed gear which ended up being the reverse light switch wiring shorting out where it passes through the gear lever grommet.
Aftermarket stereos can cause damage to the wiring loom behind them which could result in a short.

Also, you can download the BMW ETM (wiring diagrams) here...

It blows as soon as I start the car back up.
