I have been searching around for pistons for build a "MM" style M42 FI motor but could never find it apart from getting it from MM. Gave up and ordered some custom pistons from Wiseco. It has finally arrived.

These are the specs of my pistons. They are 86mm bore with a compression of 9:1 and meant for the 88mm diesel crank adn 135mm conrods (I will be getting them from Eagle and they will be stock M50 rods). If you are rebuilding your engine with similar conrods and crank, these piston dimensions may be useful to you.

Thank you for the precious data! keep us updated when the engine will be running!
where are you from? price and where you ordered them... I see "wiseco europe" on that paper...

Hi! I live in Singapore thus I have to order via their Europe office instead of US one. It cost me 770 Euros so thats around USD993. I emailed Wiseco Europe directly to order the pistons.

No, they aren't stock dimensions. They are 86mm bore pistons intended for use with the M47 crank as well as 135mm conrods (M50 rods).
The compression height is 1.305" which is what you will need to keep the stock 10:1 compression.
I am trying to make a MM copy of the M42 FI engine except my rods are a little longer (134.5mm vs 135mm) and my compression is a little higher (8.6 vs 9). MM motor is not viable for me due to its cost and shipping (shipping from US to Singapore is going to be expensive).

Can you post som pix of the engine when the pistons are monted in the blokk pleas:o
Bilding the exsakt same type engine 86mm and the m47 crank whith Garrett gt2860Rs and the ebay obx manifold.

you do realize that MM's piston set (in a configuration of your choice) is only about $780... + $120 if you want Molly rings.
shipping would have been inexpensive as well...
just my $.02 :)

that's a great price from MM, I don't know to Singapore but shipping 770$ of value to europe would mean pay VAT (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Value_added_tax) (usually like 20% of insured value) and then other custom taxes... I know as I bought a set of rare Vader seats from Usa and a lot of other things... and shipping will take at least 20days-one month.

yeah, I forgot about customs...

So there's enough material in between cylinders to bore it out to 86mm huh? It's likely pushing it though. I'd love to see pics of the block.
-
The M42 has the same bore pitch as the M/S50 engines. Some of those guys go bigger but I would not go too big on the cylinder diameter for FI. High compression NA I think goes to 87.5mm.
