Title: My new seized LSD
Post by: highway1 on January 22, 2009, 08:58:49 PM
So i came across a killer deal on a 4.10 lsd with 130k on it. I put it in today and forgot to check the oil. I went for a test drive and it seized up on me. i got it towed home and found that there was NO oil in it. My question is, is it salvageable or did I ruin a good lsd?

you might be able to put the LSD mechanism into a good open 4.10 diff.

If it seized, I'd think its done.

So i took the diff apart and it turns out that it's the input shaft that seized up, everything else looks undamaged. how hard would it be to change out the bearings?

can anyone confirm about swapping the core into my old casing?
Thanks
