I made a 7 dollar camera mount. Unfortunately, my Nikon Coolpix 7900 doesnt really support video mode. Also, the road is REALLY bumpy. somewhere around 2:40 the road smooths out. Enjoy! If anyone is interested in how I did it, I can post a how-to.

That's a awesome road!! Cool vid.
-
Cool!
I'll make one to.
Hint: It would be better if you make a movie with interior lights on.
Then you can see the turning moves better.:)

Thats awesome! I would love to see a daytime version of that road!

Many thanks for this info, very usefull!
(*only remark I will try to make something so I can chance the angle between the camera and the horizon.)

me and the other guy i work with made one for our cars he has a 350z so you have to raise the seat but i was like hell i will raise mine to much better angle.

Very cool, I never thought people would like this so much! I'm going to make a daytime video today. It's a little rainy so it should be interesting.
-
I really think that would be deadly in an accident.
I like the idea, but theres got to be a better way, without a metal spike pointing directly at your head. In an accident you will be tossed around, regardless of wearing a seatbelt. The standard seatbelt does not give much sideways restraint for the upper body

I have shortened my mount so it tucks right against the headrest. Less wiggle that way too.
Here is a quick sprint video up a canyon. There was a surprising amount of people out there today!

A web cam mounted to the roof. unfortunately the sound was all wind. I just picked up a remote mic. So we will see how that does.

Someone likes Hamilton. I've been riding that road for many years. Cars are too wide to drive fast on it. Cool video.

Best quote ever.
Nice mount BTW. Tried to make one for my 02 once but I used aluminum angle instead and it was too floppy.

And I just watched a bit more; mind your left of center turn entry as there are a lot of us on 2 wheels going MUCH faster that might sneak up on you. Think of it like an autocross with the yellow lines being cones.

I like the idea but I think you over looked it a bit. why not buy a used headrest from a junkyard that will fit the car and cut it up. That way if you wreak you want have a metal bar stick through your head?
