Hey guys what work will be needed to be done to an m42 motor to beat my mates BZV (same as bzr just 5 speed) levin in a straightline?
also whats success has people had with regrinding the cams on the m42 or is it a waste of time and just find an aftermarket uprated item?
cheers

NoS

Those 4AGE are powerful coupled with lighter chassis... Perhaps Nos is the faster way for straight line drag.. Either that or serious engine work or serious chassis lightening...
-
swap for a m52 with headers and m3 cams with head thats been ported and polished with a nice valve job
-
oh really that sucks, was hoping to have bragging rights..

Supercharged?

You do, right where it matters.
BMW is a more impressive keyring than Toyota.
You may not be as fast on the drag strip, but you'll have more sex.
As for anyone that knows cars, the mere mention of the M42 can still strike awe into the hearts and souls of enthusiasts.
