I was wondering what everyone here would expect on a 318i priced at $4650. To me, if I was going to pay for something that expensive, it should have some suspension mods like springs, shocks/struts, brakes, maybe some bigger sways. Exteriorly, it should have no rust, scratches, dents, etc. and the interior should be similar condition.
I am only asking cause theres a bone stock 318i for sale locally for $4650. No mods what so ever w/ 133k on the car. I just remember buying my first 318is (note the "s") which was beautiful, had a full sport interior and only one scratch on the whole car along with zero rust. I paid 3600 for that car which was prolly too much, but I didn't care at that point.
Would you pay that kind of money for one??? Maybe I the crazy one here.... I know its getting hard to fine clean e30's, but I've seen m52 swapped cars going for similar amounts.
Here's the posting

Looks very clean and original but without under 100K I can't imagine that car being worth $4500. You have to realize that these cars are becoming more desirable and more rare in a clean condition at the same time. For most people $4500 isn't a whole lot to go out and buy a nice clean running car, think that most OBDII Civics fetch at least $4500 with similar miles; which would you rather have. There aren't a whole lot of cars that you can get as cheap as e30s that are as enjoyable to own and drive. I paid $1800 for mine with 170K close to 4 years ago, with maintenance that number may go up to $3000. If I have started out with a lower mileage, better maintained car from the get go I may have paid a grand more with a lot less busted knuckles and troubleshooting. Depends what you want to end up with and how you want to get there. For me troubleshooting and wrenching on a pos was half the fun.

I completely understand that e30's are a rare breed to find in a clean rust free state, but i just can't see 4650 bucks for a 4 door basic as can be 318i. Maybe its just me. I love 318's personally and really want another one but if it's going to cost me 4600 for a basic one....i don't know. I'd rather buy a 325is for that money if it came down to it.

there was another one I had seen some where if I could ever find again

No way that's work $4k+. It's a bone stock 4door... with blue cloth to boot. I can imagine that all of the suspension bits are probably pretty shot too.

+1 on the 325is

nope the other one I had seen was in ST louis but its gone now. I have to agree 4650 is a little steep for a plain 4 door stock 318i keep searching you will come across something also depends on how far you want to go for one

God damn! That's a decent deal! I just gotta get rid of one of my other cars first...but before I can do that, I gotta get my IX running again.

Of course we are partial here to the M42 but a 89 -91 325is is a nice car !!!
Of course you could always go M3
-
It sounds kind of expensive.
There is a 1991 318is on Craigslist for $1800. Here is the number: PostingID: 1003777231
It sounds like a better deal.

I have always been a fan of the m42's! My first e30 was a 318is with 120k on it. That was my favorite e30 thus far so I kinda want to find another. How well do you all think a 318is would fair a 3000 mile drive from cali??
Also, does anyone have any idea's about if there are any hurdles to jump over to retitle a car from California? I don't have emissions by me but I know that cali is uber strict about that stuff!
