Here's a onboard video of my car running in Sepang F1 circuit..

Part 1

Part 2

There were other faster runs which the camera didn't manage to capture.. Maybe too much vibration..

Will take more vids when I go again...

The fees for normal open track sessions is at RM200 (roughly about USD 55) and last for 3 hours...

This video was taken during a HPC (High Performance Challenge)  (http://www.hpcevents.com)track days, whereby the participants were grouped. Track newbies is in Group 1 with sit-in instructor to guide them thru the track.. Not teaching them to race, but to guide them on the racing line ie braking point, turn in, apex and exit and more importantly, track driving ettiquette..Noticed that there were cones at the trackside, these are the reference for the 'students' to follow.

I'm one of the instructors for HPC so I get tracktime in return for being an instructor.

The passenger in the video is my student for the morning session, he drives a much faster souped up Subaru Ver8 with about 400whp.. Can see that he improved a fair bit towards the end of the session. That's part of the satisfaction of being an instructor..

The fastest (and most expensive) car I've sat in as an instructor was a CLK DTM.. Car was fast, but driver still needs more track time to fully explore the true performance of the car...

One of the more thrilling rides I had was in my fren's Nissan GTR R35 on a wet Sepang track during an open track session.. That car was amazing even in the wet.. The driver was deliberately getting the car to exit most corners looking out of the windows rather than the windshield.. and both of us were just laughing away..
Even in the wet, it can still hit a speedo indicated 230kph on the main straight before braking at the 150m mark... Awesome.. It can definitely go faster and brake later on a dry track..
