The issue started with me only having the fan work on the high setting. After reading a little i found that the issue is fairly common on the e36's so i replace the blower motor resistor pack, and it was good as new for a little while. Although i get the fan to run at all speeds it will sometimes cut out and not want to start back up, or it wont turn on it all when i start the car and then just randomly turn on when im driving. Any thoughts on it would be helpful. I just dont want to throw money at it without figuring out what the problem is. The car is a '94 318is with a/c and has the knobs for the heat control panel not the digital panel.
Thanks,
Dan

throwing out ideas here...
when you replaced the resistor pack... did you clean the pins and check for corrosion???
bad fan switch? not well plugged in? short somewhere? fried/corroded blower???
basicly I'd check for corrosion at about every connection and also try to test the blower by itself (ie, external power source?)
good luck
