Title: How hard/easy is it to do a complete serpentine belt conversion on the M42?
Post by: Cobra Jet on December 30, 2008, 10:19:14 AM
I was just curious - how easy or hard is it to do a complete serpentine belt conversion on the M42?

What are all of the parts needed to do this (is there an online link or tech)?  Does the front timing cover need to be changed?

Never really looked like it would be too difficult to do.  I was under the opinion that everything mechanically could be transferred right over from a e36 m42.  It's been awhile since I have had a m42 so I could be mistaken

you need the bracket that holds the alternator and the serpentine accessories... I think the power steering pump is the same, just swap pulleys...
