Anyone managed to install a Turbo into a RHD 318is? The problem is that steering column is in the way and I am not sure if it is possible to custome a down pipe to get around the steering column.
Thanks!

I'd imagine it's possible, most other BMW motors in E30s have been turbo in RHD cars. I've never seen one though, seems everyone over here's opting for superchargers.

The answer is yes, BUT it takes a lot of careful thinking, about turbo size, pipe size, space calculation to fit pipes in and some good fabbing skills. Hence its barely (if at all) been done.

There several users on http://www.eurocca.net who have turbo'd their m42's. You should be able to get a bit of info with a search on there.

You will have to build around the steering shaft like people that put V8's in cars that came with I4's

Ive done it with a 3inch dump pipe, it is a very tight fit
